Hardworking Moms

Mother's Day is around the corner and we wanted to share some incredible moments of motherhood from five hardworking moms at BEX®!

Amber / Sales at BEX®

What is your favorite part about being a Mom?
Amber: My favorite thing about being a mom is having someone to always do stuff with, when you have a child you have a constant buddy.

What's been your proudest moment so far?
Amber: My proudest moment being a mom is watching my son be a leader both on and off the baseball field, and balancing being a student and an athlete with a 3.5 GPA

What's your best advice for new Moms?
Amber: DON’T BLINK! One day you have a 4-year-old that you are watching take his first swing at a tee-ball and then the next moment they are in High School and looking at colleges!

Favorite gift you've received on Mother's Day?
Amber: My favorite gift I have received for Mother’s Day is a wall portrait of my son and I that is still up in our home to this day, the funniest gift I have ever received was a “rock in a box”, it was a rock my son picked up from the back yard and he put it in a cereal box… he was 5. Still have the rock.

Amanda / General Manager at BEX®

What is your favorite part about being a Mom?
Amanda: Watching my kids learn about the things that interest them. For instance, one of my boys has always been fascinated with bugs, ever since he was a baby. Now at 11 years old, he knows more about bugs than anyone else I know.

What's been your proudest moment so far?
Amanda: That's a tough one. Lately I've been really proud of all my kids because my 14-year-old daughter and my 11-year-old sons all get themselves up, dressed, eat breakfast and get themselves to school on time every day, and come home and get their chores done without any help or reminders from me. Teaching them to be autonomous and responsible for themselves is something I started focusing on from the time they were toddlers and while it's still a work in progress, it's finally really starting to show.

What's your best advice for new Moms?
Amanda: Try to remember that even though you're the parent, you’re the one who makes the decisions, this is their childhood and they only get one. You'll continue to be an adult after they grow up. So let them explore, let them get dirty, make messes and then teach them how to clean up. Talk to them like they are people and take the time to explain things to them and answer their questions. And when you're having a bad day and lose your temper, remember, it's a great opportunity to teach them that it's okay to not be perfect and how to apologize.

Favorite gift you've received on Mother's Day?
Amanda: Burnt toast, a handful of rocks and a bouquet of dandelions and weeds.

Julie / Supply Chain at BEX®

What is your favorite part about being a Mom?
Julie: I absolutely love seeing my kids' personalities and interests develop. I've loved seeing them go from being sweet little babies to fully fledged human beings with real ideas, interests, dreams, and feelings. It's like getting to be a kid again, but you can change all the things you didn't like.

What's been your proudest moment so far?
Julie: I was so proud of my daughter when she learned to do a cartwheel. It didn't come naturally to her at all, but she practiced and practiced and fell a million times, but she stuck to it and finally got it! I looooove to read, and my oldest son does too. We can't get him to go to bed on time because he doesn't want to stop reading. It's annoying that he won't go to sleep, but also makes me so happy and proud that he loves to read as much as I do.

What's your best advice for new Moms?
Julie: Nothing will be like you expect, so just enjoy each day and don't worry about any of it looking perfect. There are so many ways to be a good mom, and the best one is to be a happy mom. Take care of yourself and include your kids in doing the things that make you happy.

Favorite gift you've received on Mother's Day?
Julie: I'm super sentimental, so I especially love the handmade cards and pictures my kids give to me because they show much of their personalities. My daughter plans weeks ahead of time and puts her heart and soul into her gifts, but my sons scribble something at the last minute. It just cracks me up to see how different they all are.

Haley / Vice President at BEX®

What is your favorite part about being a Mom?
Haley: My favorite part about being a mom is watching my kids have joy: Laughing, playing, running, doing things they love, birthdays and Christmas mornings.

What's been your proudest moment so far?
Haley: When I am able to watch my kids work hard at things that aren't necessarily easy or natural for them and succeed. Example: our very athletic 5th grader received the year end GRIT award for giving it her all in academics.

What's your best advice for new Moms?
Haley: HANG IN THERE! The learning curve is tough but it does get easier!

Favorite gift you've received on Mother's Day?
Haley: Any homemade card/bracelet. When the kids try by themselves without dad's help to make it special.

Kassi / Customer Retention at BEX®

What is your favorite part about being a Mom?
Kassi: My favorite part is watching my son grow & learn! He has grown into such a smart & funny little guy who loves to make others laugh!

What's been your proudest moment so far?
Kassi: It's hard to pick just one thing! He is at an age where he is always learning & doing new things! If I had to pick just one thing it would definitely be how easy going and happy he is in all situations.

What's your best advice for new Moms?
Kassi: Take it day by day and just enjoy all the little moments!

Favorite gift you've received on Mother's Day?
Kassi: My favorite gift I've got for Mother's Day is all the cute homemade cards, and hugs & kisses I get from my son!
